Race Talk: Faculty Training on Using Debate to Discuss Race
Thursday, August 25, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
Essex, College Community Center 123
Join Lawrence Grandpre, Research Director of Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle, in a training for faculty on the use of debate to discuss concepts related to race. We hope that this training will be helpful for faculty using the Community Book Connection text, Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates, in their classrooms this fall semester. Participants in the workshop are equipped with policy debate training that incorporates cultural and racial identity and a developed knowledge of structural social, political and economic issues.
